I just feel the TCL 5series cant be compared to the similarly priced LG 6300 IPS Pannel, These ARE NOT IPS and the 5 Series is lacking Bluetooth. I did my research.

Nah I'd rather buy from those that the brands at least are owned in friendly nations. TCL has to many connections to the CCP for me to be comfortable funding, remember every TV they sale puts that much more money in the pocket of corrupt communist that will have one of their own citizens murdered. Tibet, Falun Gong, Muslim and other religious Chinese citizens. -

January 10, 2019TCL S405 49” tv owner here. Got it last week. I love the TV bc it’s got great 4K and literallly NO input lag. Like, none, and I don’t even use Game Mode. I’m a competitive Call of Duty and Halo player so I was very worried about input lag but there was none! Didn’t even take me any time to adjust from my 1080. That being said, the HDR is roouuugh. It’s extremely hit or miss. On black ops 4 the image becomes extremely washed out in this white fashion. Almost like a printer that is low on color ink. To compensate I put the Color up to 100, anything less is unplayable. At 100, it actually has decent saturation and depth. RTings settings are garbage don’t use them. I don’t know what people mean when they say it’s too dark. Mine is MUCH MUCH too bright. I can seem to get it dark enough actually. Its unfortunate about these issues because without them this tv would be worth a grand easy. I’m still very happy with my purchase but it took me a few days of tinkering and trying different games to get the setting right. And even then certain games react to the TVs setting and HDR drastically differently than others. But hey, 279.00 can’t beat it.

January 10, 2019BE WARNED!!! The 43 inch TCL 4K TV has a white line going down the side of the screen, on many cases. Look at reviews for it for evidence, that'll prove it. I HIGHLY recommend you get a name brand 4K TV, like LG, Visio or Samsung. I got my LG 43" 4K UHD HDR Smart TV – 43UK6300 and have had no problems so far, but of course it was on sale for 270.

January 10, 2019Ille tell you one major reason they sell so well is there is a lot of us in the retro gaming community that care about lag and these supposedly have really low Lagos a lot of us retro gamers are getting them. I hear you can turn off the extra features through a roku or something too

January 10, 2019I bought my Mom a 55" 4K TV a couple of years ago from the 4th leading TV manufacturer on that list…HiSense. Good picture…shitty sound…great price…399.00. Pretty much just like the TCL. Got her a sound bar for it and she loved it. Her old TV died on her and I had to make a quick decision on what to buy and decided to roll the dice…turned out to be a pretty good deal.

January 10, 2019I'm actually planning to get about 30-40 of these to strip the LCD panels and TCON boards to make one gigantic 200 inch screen. The remaining 20 panels for live picture frames and for displaying various metrics 24/7 – like satellite weather maps, live galaxy view from my roof telescope, roof solar energy production, home energy usage etc. Cause they are cheap. How about that?

January 10, 2019Never buy any electronics, especially TV's based off consumer ratings. Most people don't have a clue as to what a quality TV is. They rate it high due in most part to vanity. They spent money and don't want anyone to think they wasted it, or don't know what they're buying. That's where you get the 4.3 stars. If you insist on going to the reviews, go to the 3 stars or less reviews. These are far more likely to contain real data and people who know what they're talking about. But even then, you'll get disgruntled people who think they are getting ripped off because they spent $400 and expected the best TV in the world.
