We bought the Walmart Overpowered DTW3 gaming PC to tear it down and review it. Unfortunately, Walmart shipped us about half the computer we paid for.

We’re answering the question of “is the Walmart gaming PC worth it?” with this video, but also, the answer is “no.” Especially because they sold us a different PC than the one we got, but maybe that’s just a logistical thing. Regardless, the internal components deserve analysis and discussion, as does the build quality and quality of assembly. The Walmart DTW3, DTW2, and DTW1 machines were already clearly overpriced, even for a system integrator, but it gets worse the more we dig into it. This is the kind of machine that a parent buys for their kid to play Fortnite, and Walmart still manages to screw it up.

And if this pushes you to build your own system instead, we’re here to help. Try starting with our Best CPUs of 2018 guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCxjhEMGNZE

You needed to use dxdiag to show how someone who purchased this computer could see what they received without the teardown you did. I would also like it have been told what you thought the value of the computer was.

Smells murica here. Do something that looks good to the average person but is shit under the hood and a total ripoff. There is a reason murica is barely making cars anymore despite being the worlds largest manufacturer back in the days

Every time I've bought electronics at Walmart it has felt like I subsidized a whole lot of family-sized Doritos.

This thing is $1700 on Walmart.com right now. 1070 version is $1k. I think that totally changes the story around it. That is a really great deal.

So I came here three weeks ago to see how bad Walmart was going to do. I'm not even really much of a PC enthusiast. But your goddamn channel, Steve. Your channel made it entertaining and interesting and now I'm building a PC. I BLAME YOU.

Imagine it has an issue that would normally be covered under warranty. If it had to be sent in, the manufacturer would see the product doesn't match the receipt and would say it didn't have a warranty. The customer would be screwed. Well..more screwed?

As someone who worked at logistics Center, I know this is a rare occasion, but it can happen and it did happen once during my time working there(there is not mend Walmart though).
This is a mistake where Logistic center uses internal stickers to label products on their arrival for the period they are in the logistic center – tracking function on where the product has been and who has worked with it.
The product comes into "Supplier Import" in large quantities on a pallet. Sometimes of same products, sometimes mixed. Then the thing is labeled and split. This is the most critical part and one mistake of an employee overlooking or being distracted (for whatever reason) can label the package wrong. If there is no secondary quality assurance check involved, then the whole process after that can be a mess, since no next employee handling the article will ever look at anything else then the label. No matter what you think, handle a view hundreds(or 10) of those packages, you will stop looking at what it is(it just become a box that translates work for you).
The second time this could be checked is when the order came in and you have to commision it to the Cash desk. Again, in a rush, you just check the label. and the cycle is complete.
It only takes 2 people, distraction or inattention and you get at least 2 more angry people. 1 customer complaining and 1 customer support employee who has to handle the case, neither having any fault in the process.
As to the fact that a parent has no idea what he got, well, maybe a grandparent or someone above 40 maybe. The kids using this would figure it out for sure.

its a picking and packaging era.Walmart wasn't being evil. Not a business era. Human era, even though it reflects on the company. Happens trust me. If you've ever worked logistics you know this. I still dislike walmart lol

Lol typical Walmart Scam, few years ago I purchased 17" Laptop. Luckily printed the add out when I ordered it. When it came in it was a refurbished unit and they argued that it wasn't wrong on site. I sent them copy of the add, a couple of weeks later it was changed. They were very arrogant re my claim. There was printed sheet in box which said it was refurbished. It is always buyer beware when dealing with Walmart.
