December 16, 2018What happened to inventive and immersive fantasy or RPG games….It's like the genre's dead. I wish someone would create a really well written fighting game that doesn't ride on the coat tails of already established franchises. Or do some historical ones w/ an alternate bent. Something folkloric, maybe a little dark, but without the same shitty zombie, monster, mutant gag. Even something upbeat and uptempo, but with a dark deceptive underlying theme. Your so distracted by the vivid colors and layered world that you forget you're in danger. Hell, I'll even settle for a progtagnist that visits alternate realms and realities. She/He try to maintain a stable life, but their otherworldly trips start to bleed through.
I use to love video games, but I can't help feeling things are getting stale.
