😂 "Lick my gritty Pritt stick, viewer." I am fucking stealing that line for everyday use now. I think I should tell people to lick my possesions more frequently.

What I didn't like particularly about Resident Evil 2 was the repetition between Leon's campaign and Claire's. So much of it was just doing the same thing all over again.

I loved resident evil revelations 2. The graphics the multiple characters and endings. It was a tad short though ( but then again i finished re7 in a weekend ) .

Yes re7 was great, But it was barely a resident evil game. 4 was a mess but still fun at times, And come on, re5 wasn't that bad.

this was a really insufferable "review" that had two actual criticisms and the rest was petty personal taste gripes that Yahtzee is trying make seem like this game existing is step backwards despite it selling well, reviewing well, and being generally regarded as the best balance you could ask for between what made Resident evil Classically scary and newer ideas to not make it seem like a tone deaf nostalgic wank. Just seems like a really silly hill to die on, aggressively telling people a genuinely good game is okay at best and were apparently cunts for thinking otherwise.

Ya lost me on this one Yahtz. RE2 Remake is everything that we wanted and deserved. It's one thing for game devs to fuck game reviewers for good reviews even though a game night be total shit, but that isn't the case. Critics love RE2 Remake, gamers love it (go look at Steam reviews), you're hating on it just to be different. Or maybe you've become so jaded that when a decent game does come along you can't appreciate it. Not sure which, really doesn't matter. Especially because I'm sure I'll be called a "cock throat" lol. Agree to disagree on this one Yahtz, but stay cynical. God knows you wouldn'thave a hugely successful YT channel if you weren't.

Regarding Claire, she can't Facebook during that era of the early 90's and maybe she couldn't get him on the phone. That seems possible. Just sayin'.

5:19 I thought Umbrella's goal was to make a virus (that'll make people unkillable) and sell it to the highest bidder?

You use typewriters to save your game. It's a clear indication that phones in this universe's timeline exist only as landlines and are probably closed circuit. Maybe that's what Umbrella was originally experimenting on; improve carrier pigeons to deliver messages lightning fast and modify their vocal chords to deliver the message verbatim.

I don't care what Yahtzee calls me. The fact that he's actually giving any amount of praise to a non indie game is practically a 10/10 from him.

I accept the remake of RE2 as a necessary stepping stone to get a remake of RE3, the best of the original trilogy.

In all fairness, the Virus was only meant to give you increased strength and agility, it was accidental he turned into an angry Eyeball monster.

True to the original? This butchered story, idioticy from 4th game instead of characters and literally cut "one and half" of the game? Ye Yahtzee you know what you talking about…. F+++ this game. This isnt even closely TRUE TO THE ORIGINAL in boss battles. At least watch the original on you tube or something before talking nonsense

RE: 7 was literal dog shit. I almost unsubbed from Yahtzee for that review. That game was boring, predictable dogshit with horribly one dimensional characters. It tried to have in depth characters. But it didn't accomplish it. The plot was predictable and stole way too much from Silent Hill. At least RE: 2 didn't try to make a good story with good characters. It embraced level design and optimization over story because the creators knew their limitations. Don't try to steal Silent Hill when you're too stupid to know how to make a decent plot.

The RE: 7 demo? Amazing. And then they backed out last minute and make the game a true sequel to RE: 5 because straying from the shitty RE formula was too scary for them. The demo was false advertising, as far as I'm concerned. It was the only scary part in the whole game and the rest was just obnoxious, easy combat.

never really saw what was electrifying about re7. boring story, boring characters, very few enemies just the old people and mud monsters, and as soon as you leave the house you're almost finished with the game. it had its scary moments but overall it didn't feel like an main entry re game, should've been called revelations 3 Imo cause it had more of a re revelations feel. and don't see any point in re7 to completely ditch the old characters and make new ones. yeah Chris showed up at the end but it was a brief return and he looks nothing like the old Chris. and could never get into the first person aspect, 1st person and re don't mix for me. re is a game thats puts a lot of focus into its characters so why am I playing as a person whom I can't even see? why should I care about him? and people say re was "supposed" to be 1st person but didn't happen due to limitations, well guess what? it didn't happen and the 3rd person turned out to be very successful.

the re2 remake had it all. the fear was back, 3rd person was back, fun characters were back, and obviously zombies were back and more of a threat than before. I've beaten the game already and am still playing it for hardcore and maybe to get the infinite weapons. I've beaten re7 once and never touched it again, the first re game I never replayed.

This is why I dont take Yahtzee that seriously. Their some things I would agree, like why Celeste is an alright game of what I have played so far, but I just watch him for entertainment and dont take his critisms too seriously. I think this guy is just too damn hard to please damn it. GGGmanslives, MandaloreGaming, AngryJoe I think have a much more open and have funnier momments compare to Yahtzee. I also think focusing on the negative sides of game might be a bad thing too maybe, might make you more cynical when reviewing games. IN other words take Yahtzee seriously and try out the game yourself to see what you think. A good example would be when I played Resident Evil 4. Was it scary? Most of the time no. The regenerator was somewhat scary until you realize you can kill the thing which killed the mood. Fun?. Yes. Scary? No. Dead Space did a better job at being a bit more subtle. The Regenerator from Dead Space does it better than the one from Resident Evil 4 as it cannot be killed at all until, SPOILER, you kill the entire thing with ship engines to completey incenerate the damn thing.

to be fair with the cost efficiency of bioweapons of the resident evil type… Drop one zombie bomb in a city, get a horde going and that horde will keep racking up casualties for whomever pissed in your porridge at no additional cost to you. Cleanup is a bit of a bother now that dead zombos dont tend to disintegrate on their own anymore… But I'm sure they could release some kind of corpse/zombie eating bioweapon after that to handle cleanup… and then a zombie-eater-eater to clean those out cause they keep nibbling on the colonists… Yeah I can see why umbrella wound up going broke as a company in-universe…
