Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Western-themed action-adventure video game developed and published by Rockstar Games. The game is a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption, and the third entry in the Red Dead series. Set in 1899, it follows the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018. It was universally acclaimed by critics, who praised the story, characters, open world and considerable level of detail. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a Western-themed action-adventure game set in an open world environment. It is played from either a third or first-person perspective and the player controls Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and a member of the Van der Linde gang. The game features both single-player and online multiplayer components.
The game brings back and deeply refines mechanics from the previous game, such as the combat, gun play, honor system and more. It also has many new features, including dual-wielding[6] and swimming.
The game focuses heavily on player choice for the story and missions. During IGN’s first look preview on the topic of how player choices can affect interactions and missions, Rob Nelson, Co-Studio Head at Rockstar North said: “We try to give you options within a lot of these missions to choose how you approach it, whether you’ll send your buddies in first or whether you’ll go in first.”
Players can communicate with any non-player characters (NPC) in dynamic ways new to the series. Morgan can choose different dialogue trees with NPCs as having a simple friendly chat with an individual, or threaten them for the player’s own personal interest, or they can kill them and loot the corpse.

F*ck this game. Law Of The West is the best western video game ever made.
ReplyI guess rockstar doesn't understimate their players, so if you want Mario kart kind of controls for a western open world real life game, go somewhere else. The controls of red dead 2 take a little time to get used to, when they do, it's awesome.
ReplyThe lock-on can be disabled… so i wouldn't exactly say it's "built around" it. Turn off lock on and deadzone, turn aim assist on 1 or 2 clicks. That is the ideal setup.
ReplyWtf?…do you just really suck at the game ot are u just a secret downright sociopath?
ReplyBiggest bit of advice I could give going into this game is, take the time to adjust the controls to your liking. Try free aim, and turn the deadzone all the way down, it feels much more fluid, and responsive. Personally, I leave the aim assist on while on horseback, but you could absolutely "git gud" and free aim both on the feet and riding horseback.
Find good mission to practice aiming, and dial in your settings and it will pay dividends as you continue your playthrough. While the movement controls could be smoother, the aiming feels every bit as great to me now as any great 3rd person shooter I've played. You get out of it what you put it.
ReplyYou do have good videos for the most part, but I have to correct one thing you said that isn’t necessarily accurate you said fast travel don’t become available until 25 hours into the story but that’s not accurate. Depending on how you play and how much money you make as long as you can afford to upgrade Dutch’s and your own tent then fast travel becomes available it could be done as soon as 7 or 8 hours into the game and not totally relied on the main story. You can open it up anytime once you get to second chapter as long as you make enough money to pay for the necessary camp upgrades. Not a huge deal but it’s always best to be as accurate as possible to your viewers. Maybe on your own play through it took that long and maybe you focused mainly on the main story but if anyone wanted to unlock it in less then 25 hours it can be done only obstacles are getting to chapter 2 so your at the first real camp and earning the funds to purchase upgrades. I opened it on my 7 hour. But aside from that your vids are good and keep them rolling.
ReplyI love RDR2 but my only problem is you lose everything at end
Replyuhm actually, you don't unlock fast travel 25 hours in, it gets unlocked when you upgrade the camp the second time.
ReplyFor the dummy’s saying the controls on this game are terrible or awful stfu..! Every video game doesn’t control like stupid ass Fortnite and COD… I would agree it does get a little to get used to but once you get it your fine.. And if your having problems change the settings..
ReplyI love the cowboy accents, love the cowboy history, exile, outlaws, culture, civilization and definitely love Dutch ambitious character.. Masterpiece…
ReplyThis game is absolutely incredible. It gets clunky here and there just because of how the characters move and the uncustomizable button layout which drives me nuts but its tons of fun, gorgeous, and you can spend hours running around without progressing and its fun as hell. Reminds me of HZD in that way. By the way if you aim down and hold the back arrow button you slow down the world and can adjust the person youre aiming at easily without being a slave to auto aim.
Reply"bad people in a … world" = destroying another countries, stealing their petrol/gold and call it "democratisation"… and then asking where to invade next…
ReplyYour honor is only affected by what your fellow gang members or NPC's SEE you do. You can rob and shoot someone out on the beaten trail and as long as no one sees it you're good to go.
ReplyCan't understand people complaining about the controls there the exact same as GTA V and for those complaining about it being a horse simulator it's based in 1899 what do you expect blimps, planes, jetpacks seriously it's a western!
Be realistic it along with God of war have probably been the best games in a good few years I mean CoD is just getting worse and worse every year, Battlefield hasn't had a good game since 2011's BF3, fallout seems meh fortnite is childish as all hell seriously if you have arguments against this I'm honestly interested to hear what your thoughts are
Fun? Are you nuts or just work for Rockstar. Your full of it. Hard to come by money and bad controls and lots of glitches. One thing I hate is that if you run in to people with a horse then there is a bounty put on your head for an accident.. And words that were never used in the old west. So the people that made this game failed history. People having problems paying for bounty's because you can't make money in this game at all. My friends are asking me how can you make money. I guess it needs a hack to make any kind of money.
ReplyRespectfully disagree. Big fan of Westerns and RDR1, but RDR2 is a big, beautiful, detailed, bloated, poorly-paced, sluggishly-controlled, uninvolving, micromanaged mess. Are there wonderful — even great — aspects of this game? Yes. Are there problems? Yes. Is the game fun? Not particularly… and certainly nowhere near as fun or as engaging as RDR1. Many reviewers are so caught up with the beauty, size, and scope of RDR2 that they've ignored the real — and often large — problems. I love Westerns and R* games, but RDR2 is a huge budget misfire IMHO. I'll certainly play RDR1 again, but once through RDR2 was a chore enough for me.
