January 1, 2019As a big fan of the book, I don't think this is a particularly good trailer. Even down to the font choice for the title; given the words are a nod to old school arcade machines, wouldn't it have been better to use a font and style evocative of them?
Also, the first third to a half of the book is heavily focused upon a particular old school AD&D module, and this trailer doesn't even hint at that.
Now, it might just be a bad trailer aiming at hooking the dumbed down masses, as Hollywood clearly perceives the bulk of it's audience rightly or wrongly, but I hope this movie is not just this big Transformers esque mash up of images moving at blizzard fast speed. That was not the book I read and loved. :/
