The Hunger Games hits theaters on March 23rd, 2012.

Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Wes Bentley, Toby Jones, Alexander Ludwig, Isabelle Fuhrman, Amandla Stenberg, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland

Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, with a screenplay by Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following. It has spent more than 160 consecutive weeks/more than three consecutive years to date on The New York Times bestseller list since its publication in September 2008, and has also appeared consistently on USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists.

Prredictive Programming video BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE RULING ELITE WHO WILL SURELY GO TO HELL AFTER THEIR LAST DAY ON EARTH BUT THEY'RE HAVING FUN NOW AS <<SADDISTS>>

Fact is, no one can enjoy life unless they have a caring attitude towards other human beings around them and that goes foe having a caring attitude for other forms that have a right to life and deserve to be alone instead of destroyed for a snack! On this planet they build cages for birds, cages for hamsters, and wars for mankind ect

What I think the contestants in the first Hunger Games should have done was ban together, got all of the districts hyped up through the cameras and started a riot against the capital. Just think, they had all those weapons and angry slaves in all of the districts. Man they could have kicked ass

What if the movie is actually completely true to the book and all the extra stuff was just in Katniss' mind?

Katniss said, 'There's 24 of us Gale, only 1 comes out.' I thought that there are 2 tributes at the end of the games?

Is it weird I only liked the first movie and book? I loved the first one so much. It's because I prefer the whole 'mystery' to it. I didn't really like the the futuristic feel to Mockingjay and Catching Fire. It's so much better when Katniss was in the first arena because it felt more real, the danger was more real because she didn't have any alliances.

You know what I believe has the most in common with the hunger games? I'm not referring to another movie I'm referring to  Black Friday (I don't think I need to explain why)

The trailer looks VERY similar to the book.so if it's like that with the whole movie.I applaud the director who actually read the book thoroughly and not like the directors of Percy Jackson

I'll bet all the women then will be angry at feminazis for allowing the women and girls to be in the hunger games. Because otherwise the women and girls wouldn't have to worry about being reaped. Maybe they will even start anti-feminism because women and girls shouldn't be in the games. But hey, equality!

Btw:I realise the story is meant to show girl power and all that would never happen in the book or the movie. And I do understand "old feminism" or at least not the feminism I am hearing a lot of nowadays, because I feel a lot of "feminists" just pick and leave some things to equalize. But I do think there is a big chance of that actually happening when it will favor the girls. However I must say this is one of my favorite stories (book and movie) and I really do love it. I also love that they picked JLaw to play Katniss. She's hilarious (JLaw, not Katniss. Katniss is kind of depressing, don't blame her though).

I was pretty mad at the last half-hour of this one, when they announced that 2 tributes should win, then everything started falling apart, first, Peeta was trying to kill Katniss and then they were all kisses again, just because, obviously, they'd be the ones to survive, but to get worst, when they did, they announced back that only one should win and then they were about to eat the blackberries and the rule of 2 winners was validated again, seemed like the director had no personality at that point, trying to make everything he could in one situation, but that drove me nuts… But, of course, watching the second film and the third as a one, it was acceptable but still the Catching Fire was fantastic, coz i just bought a 50" tv and got it on 1080p bluray,
it was perfect, I think what i said it's not just me since 9 days after the realease in 2012 Lionsgate announced that Francis Lawrance would take place in the Ctching Fire and a few months later they revealed he was going to direct all of the next ones, i think the problem was the direction of the first movie, it's boring when you know what's gonna happened just because the director wants to cause all kinds of reactions to the public, and i'm not blaming completely the director, since the movie is an adaptation of the novel, so he could've adapted it, i didn't read them, but if the books are just ike the movie, he could have changed a few things Still a 8/10 movie.

Good movies, like the alternate history of the world.
Just wondering for the people that red the books, did President Snow rise to power after the first Hunger Games or was he around when Panem started?
