I’ve noticed that if Sim 4 is the only sims game you’ve played, it’s amazing, but if you’ve been playing since sims 2 or 3, it’s disappointing and missing so much.

Here is the timeline for the Sims series.
Sims 3 is set in the past and the first in the timeline. This is because Gunther Goth (Mortimer Goth's father) is alive, and Mortimer is a child.
Sims 1 is next and number 2 in the timeline, considering that Cassandra is alive and she is the only child of Mortimer and Bella.
Sims 4 is next and number 3 in the timeline. This is because Mortimer is a adult and has Alexander Goth. (Him and his wife's 2nd child)
Sims 2 is the next and final in the timeline. Meaning Sims 2 is set in the future. This is because Cassandra is a adult now, and Alexander Goth is a child, and also Mortimer is now a elder. Meaning whenever Mortimer Goth turns an elder in sims 4, the game is now set in the same time as Sims 2.

ugh, I wanted to check out SIms 4 but seems like a downgrade WTF was EA thinking?? oh wait that's right they weren't! the multitasking feature looks cool but seems like a downgrade from the open world in the sims 3… the neighborhood view looks like a mobile downgrade but they could've stuck with the stuff form the sims 2 and 3 but this isn't really much of an improvement

Honestly i hate that they made a DLC for parenthood like why make a DLC of raising children of all things?

Is this any good on console? It’s on sale on the PS store for about $10 and I want to know if it’s worth the money.

I was against the Sims 4 this whole time. I heard about everything they took out, and wasn't surprised that EA would pull something like this. I just bought the game last week for $10. From what you've shown, and what I've heard, I thinks that is a good deal. Especially after months of bug fixing. Thanks LGR

Am I the only one not bothered about the loading screens? They don't last too long. I kinda miss the burglars, the repairman and other stuff. Thankfully we got toddlers and pools.

Just got it for $5, and can't see myself buying a single xpac for it. Not the worst Sims game but far from the best, and paying a pile extra to improve it seems stupid

Over 4 years later and our expansions are:
    – 3 active careers + some business options
    – Get Together? Clubs? I still don't know what that expansion added beyond "clubs."
    – A city and its festivals and. Not much else.
    – Cats. And Dogs. That you can't control or even look at the stats of. and nothing else.
    – Seasons and holidays. Probably the best expansion pack, tbh. Still not worth $53CAD+tax because Origin is allowed to charge tax for some reason???
    – Celebrities and Youtubers. Decent.
We also got toddlers. And pools. And like? Restaurants?

No universities. No hobbies. No progression. No better worlds. The vacation stuff is a joke and 90% rabbit holes or the same shit as always. There's no real nightlife or club life to speak of, even if they claim there is, apartments are better than they were in 3, I'll give them that much, but definitely prefer 2's. While the children have an interesting reward system, there's still not a lot for them to /do/. We paid 20 bucks for Vampires (30ish in Canada) and got no other occult. There's no beaches, no pool slides, the occult life stages are lackluster as hell… need I go on?

Instead, we got Video Games, Dancing, and Singing as proper skills, Father Winter the Kind of a Ho. -sighs-. I never wanted this game to be perfect, and I'm not going to say that 2 and 3 were better. They all have parts that I prefer over the other. But after 4+ years of mostly stuff packs and lackluster expansions that I, by and large, don't think were worth the money, I'm getting kind of… tired of 4. The main thing that keeps me playing? Create a Sim, the Build Mode upgrades, and the gender patch. That's about it.

    Disappointed, to say the least.

16:44 It was $39.99 per game at Target. (meaning if one expansion pack was $39.99, another would be $39.99, except the bundle packs were $29.99)

One thing I really love about the Sims 4 is that it’s easier to take care of your main sim’s needs but the toddlers are so hard to deal with.

What destroys the sims is online there is no online witch is a joke. Why would they not do that. How amazing to pop to another online players and set up parties and have a boogy with friends. My opinion I've played enough sims on my own but online would of put this game right up there but it gets boring and you feel alone most of the time.

I loved the sims 2 and 3. I still play both from time to time. I recently bought Sims 4 (you can buy it for $5 at the moment), and it's a huge disappointment. It is such a downgrade from the 3rd. Less content to start with, less customization, terrible neighborhoods, worse build/buy mode display, less navigation/display control, etc.
