The magics been gone since the release of fallout 4 and fallout 76 is prof it’s never coming back. In 10 years when they release the next fallout, most Fallout 3 & NV fans will be in their 30’s, fallout 1 & 2 fans in their 40s they know what we want but we’re not their target audience anymore. Older Fallout 4 and 76 fans will be in the same position with the release of fallout 5 and fallout 5’s spinoff. You only get so many years out of your fan base before they’re too old to care so you gotta get them while they’re young. Bethesda games are for children, so at some point you just gotta move on or become a man child lol.
ReplyI would tell my friend that this game has one of the worst story in the the entire fallout series he would defend his precious game by saying: "you get to nuke places! It's the best story ever!!" Completely ignoring the other games like Vegas. Vegas was mine and his favorite fallout game because of the compelling story and memorable NPCs in that game….
After he told me that, 5 years of being friends ended
Rofl. So much butthurt hate. Play it or don't play it. Why the hate. Some hate it for being multiplayer, others for not being an MMO (cause it isn't). Enjoy it for what it is, that's what I do, or play something else. 😉
ReplyThere's a simple reason Beth didn't bother to put a real story in there. Providing story content and developed NPCs means paying writers and developers. This is a sandbox game, and sandbox games inevitably draw one type of PvPer. To put it bluntly, a story is wasted on them. PvPers who enjoy sandboxes have but one goal: get on and kill other players. They're going to create a character, find some way to farm the character up in level as quickly as possible, and turn their focus to bullying the lowest level players they can for fun and harassment. They're not interested in an actual strategic competition. Try beating them sometime. The whines are hilarious. It's pathetically easy to do, although annoying as having to repeatedly stop to smack mosquitoes, which is why I don't care to bother with it. They just want to have free license to harass people. Period.
Of course, the problem with those kinds of PvPers is that real gamers and PvPers who want real strategy get disgusted and quit, so a constant source of fresh meat (aka low-level beginning players who are easy prey) has to be constantly supplied. Otherwise, this crowd turns cannibal, gets bored, and leaves.
Getting people to buy the game and particularly getting them to use microtransactions means that not only does Bethesda not have to pay writers for REAL content, they're basically suckering people into paying to provide the content for the PvP crowd. It's a complete win/win situation for Bethesda. They lure in enough fresh meat for the PvPers to bully, AND they're making more profit.
Thus, why I'm not wasting my time or money on this garbage. I have plenty of money for gaming, but not much leisure time. I want to spend that time gaming with friends, not having to bother with the gaming equivalent of pubic lice. I wouldn't mind PvPing, but I will only do so if I can choose who I PvP with and do it when I find it convenient to do so, not because some lame little twit wants me to play NOW. I only want to PvP with decent players and RL has first priority on my time. I refuse to have to cede a battle because I'm on call and got paged, or heaven forfend, I got called AFK to deal with some emergency. Until Beth has an actual multi-player that allows for real cooperative play, and a better communications system to facilitate it, a real storyline and especially the option to ignore PvP without penalty, I'm not bothering with this game. There are far better options out there that are more fun.
ReplyAt around 9 mins in you say there is no story worth following. This simply isn't true. There's at least one.
ReplyWell the main reason you said most of these things is because you suck at the game. And by "suck at the game" I mean you barely played to enjoy it. I personally have over 76 hours on the game and I am throughly enjoying it WITHOUT friends. It just might be me because I don't really care about the story in games, but it's still fun non the less. I say you should focus on something more than stupid things like that and "game breaking bugs" and enjoy the game in other ways.

ReplyI don't know whether to give this video a thumbs up on a thumbs down. I enjoyed FO3 and FO4. And I was excited when FO76 was introduced until I learned about the lack of NPCs etc. Since then I've watched some of the videos about FO76 and I'm glad I never spent the money. This reviewer has a point. It looks more like a FO4 mod. And not a good one. I hope whoever makes FO5 will learn the lessons of the past and dedicate themselves to making a really kick-ass single player game!
