Bad Game Reviews #1: Vampyr

Vampyr (PC, PS4, Xbox One) game review – Video Games That Make Me Angry – Episode 1. In this review of Dontnod’s RPG ish game about a vampire doctor in Victorian London, this nerd talks about Vampyr’s gameplay, story, characters, combat, graphics, glitches, sound. Spoilers present. Brief explanations of what it’s about and whether it’s worth it. Spoiler: it sucks. That’s pretty clear at first glance. I hated this game when I played it, and I still hate it now. It fails to capitalize on its premise because of its terrible gameplay and lousy graphics, and mediocre narrative. Developer Dontnod’s tale tries to elevate the vampire doctor with a not so great story, and it fails miserably. Boring characters, boring world, boring gameplay. Lots of bugs and system hiccups make it a chore to play. It may have slipped under the radar for a lot of gamers, but that’s a good thing because it’s not worth it. Not worth a buy. Imperfect game, to say the least. An incredibly and uniquely bad experience. Testing your morals isn’t anywhere near as interesting as it sounds, and has no real consequences in-game. Not a future hidden gem. Awful vampire game. Don’t even mention Witcher in reference to the combat; it profanes the good name of that game. Shitty games, shitty game.

Played on PS4.

Certainly not the worst game I’ve ever played, it wasn’t a masterpiece either. Combat was definitely boring and barebones. But the creative aspect of letting you feed on others so you can handle the difficulty spikes. I thought that was cool. But I could only really get 4 hours in due to a BAD boredom spike
