My biggest problem with it was the insane amount of filler that was only there to stretch out the story.

It all looks pretty meh, or Ok at best.
Last time I purchased an ubsoft game was AC Unity. The older I get the less I am willing to subject myself to low standards game/game devs/publishers.

That being said I cannot wait for Cyberpunk 2077.

I'm not gonna lie. Odyssey kinda disappointed me. I don't have a problem with being taken even further in the past than AC Origins. But the thing that I don't like is how slow and tedious the story feels. It's humdrum and unlike origins, the side missions in this game feel more like chores than actual missions. In origins I loved the side quests because they always made me feel like a detective or vigilante the way I'm always infiltrating some dangerous criminal hideout, proceed to mop the floor with the thugs inside and put a stop to whatever they're planning. I did the side quests because I wanted to do them. Plus they went in well with the story because each region I went to had a Templar kingpin, and most of the time the side quests were about dismantling the criminal underworld and black market going on in each region until you get to your target. But in Odyssey I only do the side quests to level up. They feel like chores. Helping random people with their petty unimportant dilemmas. Each side quests feels like I'm running errands for lazy people. And they all pretty much go something like this: "hey misthios you see those guys over there? They're really annoying. Kill them and I'll give you 20 bucks." And then there's the endless chattering for each and every quest. They don't tie into the story at all to me.

This game glitches most of the time even with it's new update. Every area I explore, the game pauses except the camera view. Another is when choosing the weapons that are in hand does not operate. I was doomed to use one weapon and no access to a torch. Another issue I have is the quest menu will not show up any mission. This game needs a update, origins did perfect for me, I had no problem with its day one patch but odyssey crashes with a update?

Dunno the combat looks outdated and unrealistic to me.. compare it to Witcher, HZD or GoW. The fights look and feel more liquid and authentic.

Whatever the case may be, don't always be guided by reviews or opinions of others. One game does not provide the same experience for everyone, if you are interested on the game then try it and if not then it's your choice, but let others enjoy it if they really like it.

Not that I have anything wrong against the game itself, but I hope they return to the classic formula of Assassin's Creed, a stealth game. Obviously not just clone Syndicate or something, but rather blend the types. Say, the wilderness and wide-open streets are where Origins and Odyssey's style shines, while tight and covert missions are where the series returns to its roots. If I wanted to play the open-world style game Origins and Odyssey offer, I'd rather play Breath of the Wild.

If I wanted to play as stealth game renowned for its mechanics, Assassin's Creed would be my immediate choice. Now though…that's changed.
