Germans need to design a simple, larger diesel engine and mass produce it and put it in all commercial vans. I know they can – the've done it in the past. Engine that will be bulletproof and will bring new customers to this brand. For now, many potential buyers are afraid of new tech and question reliability of new emission equipment. The 4-cyl gas engine is a joke and nobody will order it but when you select the diesel, price jumps $6k.

I’ve always loved the sprinter but I’ve never been a huge fan of the Ford Transit, I do like the connect though. I for some reason prefer the Express and Savana from GM. I drove the Savana and have ridden in the others and the GM vans are old school but really aren’t that bad to drive.

I am so looking forward to seeing a overall review on the gasoline powered version of the 2019 Sprinter. And I for one, appreciate that the shift lever was moved to the steering column as in this configuration it won't get in the way of my right knee! Nice Job.

German design sprinter vans are way too expensive to buy and to maintain. Buy American design vans.

With the cost of living going up we have no choice but to live in a van . These are available for regular people to buy correct? Like for personal use

In Europe, they need a narrow van due to their narrow streets, but in America we need a wider van. This will help with the over turning in a high cross wind situation. The cross wind stabilizer may flip the high top over on to it side easier.
The high cost of repairs for Sprinters is a big draw back. There are more Ford dealers available for any repairs and it is cheaper in maintenance.

Height vs. width makes the high top unstable. The best thing is to make it at least 6'6" wide.

Sprinter finnaly offers Gas engine which was the biggest consert for many many ppl including me. America doesnt like Diesel period!!! And the last thing i wish Sprinter would’ve been as wide as Transit at least and promaster at most would make Sprinter the best van in everything from a-z

From one Andre to another, welcome to my back yard:) Thanks for the tour of the 2019 Sprinter. I think our MB dealer here is ashamed of Sprinters because they keep so few in stock. (Charleston has become a bit snobbish). They need a better representation here, especially since the plant is in their own back yard. Doesn't make any sense to have to drive all over just to check them out.

How much they paid you for the bla, bla, bla… NOT saying about Mercedes rust ?! My Sprinter 07 after 100,000 get holes across side door, and I'm not saying about another rust. Many Sprinters diesels have replaced intake manifolds – very expensive job. My friend from NY in his 3 month old Β find rust over windshield in his white Sprinter. Β If more complicated that dealer after you buy keeping you better by the balls, because for them 5-6,000 is nothing like dentist. Only one time Mercedes dealer replaced my alternator for $1,500 and I never show up to them again ( they giving free water)) My friends make fun of me: for such money is possible tow van to us, replace alternator andΒ have lot of money for cruse vacation. Every new brush is sweppingΒ  well. God luck.

The most over priced van there is. The only time you see them is for city/utility or big companies . There certainly out of touch with the working class/small business folks when it comes to there pricing. Hope they sell very little of them ha!

What about the problem with diesels and the whole DEF System? On 2018 and earlier models the DEF System literally falls apart at 105K miles and costs $6000 to repair! The DEF System is then plagued with the "count down of death" from then on……OH and the fact that the diesel engine runs extremely HOT and has a tiny paper filter cartridge and is covered with basically a thick rubber mat (why? ever hear wha heat does to an engine?) never made much sense……………Thanks Mercedes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doesn't look like you changed much with the diesel engine………looks the same…………believe me……..the DEF System is awful and costly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have they fixed the "rusted out" vans yet? Why don't address that glaring issue. Or are you being paid to put a bow on a turd?

I have 2015 Sprinter 2500 extended 170, currently it has 295,000 miles and running very smooth
The biggest problem I have with this van is the parts are very very expensive, for example I have a problem with DEF heater, dealer don’t sell it alone you have to buy with DEF container it cost $1,800,… and so on, second problem is rust
Hope these issues will be addressed
All friends they bought Ford Transit complained of transmission problem, I know some who rebuilt transmission more than 5 times in 4 years

I'll be excited when they fix the body dimensions so that it's not so god dang narrow! Take a page out the Ram Promaster book. Wide, square interior. A few more inches in height would be good too. Until then, I'm unimpressed.

Just a few of questions to this presenter… Will all new sprinters be made in the US or just the left hand drive US versions ? Is the US just assembling the parts or actually making panels from scratch ?
In other words – will your US versions be rust buckets like ours ? I'm being honest and genuine – I own a sprinter and am a fan but I do hate the fact that on the whole Mercedes couldn't give two shits about their rust issues.
I'd really like to invest in a large 4×4 version but there's no way I'd shell out 55k for a van that rusts within 5yrs, I want my van body to last as long as the engine.
Another question – you mention a petrol / gasoline 2ltr version – what's the mpg of this and the diesel ?
